How Erik ten Hag's signings have fared in their first Manchester United season

In his first season as manager of Manchester United, Erik ten Hag has overseen significant personnel change at Old Trafford. At the start of his tenure, the Dutchman immediately saw the departure of big names at the club including Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata.

The newly-appointed United manager therefore required incoming players not only to replace those heading out, but to strengthen areas that had shown to be vulnerable the previous season.

With this in mind, Ten Hag introduced a number of players, the first of which was left-back Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord. Since then, the left-back has been frequently rotating with Luke Shaw. Often showing strong performances in which he has provided consistent delivery from wide positions, Malacia has also committed to tracking back and holding up opposition play.

Unfortunately for United, Luke Shaw picked up an injury against Brentford on Wednesday and would miss the weekend clash against Everton. Whilst it still remains to be seen how long Shaw could be out, Malacia must step up. Fans though will be optimistic that the new signing will produce solid displays over the coming games.
