How Erik ten Hag's Manchester United could line up with four academy stars and new signings in 2024

Business has commenced for Erik ten Hag and Manchester United as the club kick-off their summer rebuild.

After guiding Ajax to a third Eredivisie title in four seasons, the Dutchman has already jetted in to London and he is set to attend the Premier League finale against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon. At that point the serious search begins as Ten Hag aims to conjure-up a blueprint to rekindle former glories.

As you would expect, Ajax players past and present, such as Netherlands centre-back Jurrien Timber and Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong, have been tipped to follow the 52-year-old to Manchester this summer. Having failed to clinch Champions League qualification, though, the project will not merely be about one upcoming window.

Indeed, if observers have learned anything about Ten Hag from his hugely-successful four and a half year stint with Ajax - which brought six domestic trophies - it's that he has a penchant for nurturing youth talent and coupling that up with hand-picked signings who can help create a perfect blend on and off-field.

That is something every United supporter can be excited about given their rich history in Academy players bursting on to the first-team scene and emerging as global forces. It comes at a time, too, where United have once again got their hands on the coveted FA Youth Cup.

Alvaro Fernandez, Hannibal Mejbri and Madrid-born Argentina forward Alejandro Garnacho were all instrumental to that success and are backed to have a bright future under Ten Hag moving forward. But they are not alone.
