How Barcelona's Spotify deal could impact Manchester United summer transfer plans

Barcelona's whopping £235m deal with music giants Spotify could have an impact on Manchester United's summer plans.

The La Liga giants have been credited with an interest in a whole host of United players over the past few months, with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Eric Bailly just a selection of the players tipped with a move to Camp Nou. However, Barca's financial woes mean any big-money transfers have always seemed unlikely.

It was recently announced that the Spanish side had completed an incredible £235m deal with Spotify, meaning big-money transfers could soon be back on the table at Camp Nou. And the Daily Star report that the first of said deals is already in the making.

They claim that Paul Pogba could be on his way to Barcelona when his contract expires in the summer. The Frenchman's second stint with United looks set to come to an end, with Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid all being linked with a move for the midfielder.

It has been claimed that their initial interest in Pogba cooled after they were unable to meet his contract demands. But the recent influx of cash means a deal could soon be struck with the player's agent, Mino Raiola.

It remains to be seen whether Pogba will be the last United player Barcelona look to snap up this summer, but with plenty of money in the bank and previous admiration for a number of United's stars, we could be hearing plenty more from the La Liga giants this summer. With a total rebuild needed at Old Trafford, having a club with ample spending money admiring your players might not be the worst thing.
