The next few weeks are some of the biggest in Mikel Arteta ’s tenure at Arsenal. After back-to-back eight-placed finishes, the Spaniard was heavily backed last summer to help lay the foundations for a more successful campaign.
That has happened so far, with the Gunners in pole position to finish fourth and seal a return to the Champions League. They currently sit in the final place for the competition, though North London rivals Tottenham sit just behind in fifth and only two points off.
With the two sides set to meet in a crunch match towards the end of the season, it could be make or break for that final place. However, Arsenal’s move to give Arteta a brand new contract puts faith in the Spaniard, whether they finish in fourth or not.

If it is as big of a summer as expected, then a number of signings could come through the door, with the side in need of reinforcements and depth heading into next season. With that said, here’s a look at a few potential signings and how the side could line up.
The most important decision coming up for Arteta is his choice of striker.
