House raided and three arrested in 'zero tolerance' response to crime

Three were arrested as part of an attempt to clamp down on criminality in Heywood earlier this week.

Neighbourhood officers took part in the day of action in the town on Thursday this week (June 8), starting with a raid at a house on Manchester Street. This house was raided in search of suspected illegal items after Greater Manchester Police had received this intelligence from the Border Force.

A large quantity of Class C drugs had been intercepted on its way to this address, leading to its raid on Thursday. Following the raid officers patrolled other areas of the town residents had told them was blighted by criminality.

A 30-year-old male was also arrested under suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and suspected class A drugs. This day comes as part of a 'zero tolerance' approach to tackling crime in Heywood, GMP says.

"We are ultimately here to serve the public
