Hoo Sport Academy’s work in giving youth a sporting chance recognised with two regional awards

Hoo Sport Academy has picked up two major regional awards.

The academy has been named Children’s Holiday Club of the Year in the South East Prestige Awards 2025/26, while also receiving the Award of Excellence for PE and Sport Coaching Company of the Year from E2 Media.

Managing director Bradley Collins says the awards reflect the progress made both on and off the pitch in recent years.

“We’re obviously delighted with the recognition and very proud of what we have achieved over the past year,” he said. “These awards are a reflection of the hard work from our coaches, parents, schools, children and wider support network who continue to help grow the programme both on and off the pitch.

“At Hoo Sport Academy, our focus has always been on creating an environment where young players can develop not only as sportsmen and women or athletes, but also as people.

“Receiving these awards reinforces the work we are doing within the local community and the opportunities we are trying to create for young people across Medway and Kent.”

The academy delivers around 35 to 40 coaching sessions every week through PE lessons, after-school clubs, holiday camps, fixtures and other sporting programmes.

Around 900 students are supported through those sessions, while the organisation works alongside up to 30 local clubs, teachers, coaches and sports professionals.

It teams up, too, with more than 12 schools, providing PE lessons, swimming lessons, breakfast and after-school clubs, staff training, inflatable hire and grassroots football.

The organisation also runs the Medway Primary Football League and Medway Primary Football Cup.

Collins says the academy is determined to continue expanding opportunities.
