High drama expected in BMW M Performance Parts Race Series at Red Star Raceway

The next chapter in the BMW ///M Performance Race Series title battle will play out at Red Star Raceway, just outside Delmas in Mpumalanga, this Saturday (5 March).

In Class A, William Einkamerer had a mixed bag of fortunes in the first two events but hopes to overcome the electronic problems that dogged his efforts in Gauteng. Fabio Fedetto will join him, hoping to show improvement as he gets to grips with slick tyres, as used by the Class A competitors. Sav Gualtieri will be expecting all the gremlins of his BMW 335i has been eradicated so he may open his account on the points table. This trio should provide a fierce battle at the front of the field around the 13-corner circuit.

In Class B, reigning champion Andreas Meier and Carlo Garbini will head another strong cast consisting of Salvi Gualtieri, Nicholas van Zyl and the ever-improving Thomas Potgieter in his new F82 M4.  

Jan Eversteyn, Alan Hilligenn, and Lorenzo Gualtieri will also be in the field and will be looking for a fruitful outcome for the weekend. 

Jagger Robertson will miss this event because he competes in Cape Town the same weekend in the 2022 CompCare Polo Cup Championship season opener.

Mish-Al Sing had a fantastic weekend in the rain in Round 2, and should the weather prove adverse again; he may well be able to repeat his form. Currently, he is heading up the Class C points table. Renier Smith will be hoping for a pair of good results at the front of the field. Lyle Ramsay,  Trevor Long, and Troy Cochrane would also like to get their championship quests pointing towards an upward trajectory. The latter had recovered from a broken arm sustained while preparing for  Round 2.
