Hidden ITVX series ranked among Rotten Tomatoes' top-rated dramas can be streamed right now

One of the best-rated drama series on Rotten Tomatoes can be streamed right now on ITV.

The psychological thriller was first released on BBC One in 2017, but is no longer available on iPlayer. Starring Emily Watson, Apple Tree Yard is based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Louise Doughty.

Watson plays Yvonne Carmichael, an unhappily-married fifty-something scientist, who begins an affair with a mysterious man she meets while at the House of Commons.

The series takes a sinister turn when she's sexually assaulted by a work colleague - and begins confiding in Mr X - also known as Mark Costley (Ben Chaplin).

Watson has previously worked with the likes of Steven Spielberg, Tim Burton, Lars von Trier, and Charlie Kaufman throughout her impressive career. Mark Bonnar, Steven Elder, Kezia Burrows, Susan Lynch and Franc Ashman also star in the series.

Their consensus reads: "Emily Watson plays a dangerous game with exceptional finesse in Apple Tree Yard, a rattlingly intense erotic thriller that deftly explores disturbing dilemmas and themes."

Globe and Mail's John Doyle described it as "thrilling and simultaneously disturbing; among the most disturbing you will watch this year" while Radio Times' Ellie Harris said: "It's the dark undertones in this drama that make it worth
