Henry Cejudo makes bold claim ahead of Aljamain Sterling's rematch with Petr Yan

Former two-weight UFC champion Henry Cejudo still strongly believes he is the ‘king’ of the bantamweights ahead of the title being defended at UFC 273.

This weekend in Jacksonville, Aljamain Sterling will defend the UFC bantamweight title against Petr Yan. This bitter rivalry stretches all the way back to UFC 259 when an illegal knee from Yan, who seemed to be on his way to victory, handed Sterling the belt via disqualification.

After one postponed bout and a whole lot of trash talk, they’ll finally get the chance to settle the score once and for all in front of a sold out crowd in Florida.

One man who knows a thing or two about finding success at 135 pounds is none other than former champ Henry Cejudo.

‘Triple C’ captured the bantamweight title in June 2019 when he finished Marlon Moraes via strikes at UFC 238. The win elevated him into an elite group of fighters who have won championships at two weight classes in the UFC and just under a year later, he successfully defended the strap in a somewhat controversial win over Dominick Cruz.

He hung up his gloves and walked off into the retirement sunset shortly afterwards but as we all know, Cejudo has been teasing a comeback every other day since he actually made the announcement.

At this point Dana White is probably sick of hearing him talk about it but just in case he isn’t, Cejudo decided to poke fun at the promotion and former title holder Petr Yan when replying to a tweet that suggested ‘No Mercy’ is the uncrowned king of the division.
