Hendrikse replaces Lombard at No 10 as Lions brace for Glasgow Warriors

Jordan Hendrikse has been named to start at flyhalf for the Lions in Saturday's URC clash against the Glasgow Warriors in Johannesburg.

Hendrikse replaces Gianni Lombard in the No 10 jersey, with the latter moving down to the bench.

It's one of two changes to the Lions starting XV that lost 39-37 at home to Ulster last weekend, with PJ Botha also coming in at hooker for Jaco Visagie, who drops to the bench.

Reflecting on last weekend's narrow defeat, Lions assistant coach Ricardo Loubscher praised their never-say-die attitude.

"We spoke quite a bit about composure and just having patience. It boils down to how we start the game, but in saying that, the boys did a great job in the last 20 minutes in taking the game to the opposition," he said.

Loubscher stressed the importance of hitting the ground running against the Scottish outfit this weekend.

"The big thing for us is to start well. Whether it' s the first or second half just to ensure that we build scoreboard pressure and continue that same pressure for the majority of the 80 [minutes]. 

"Looking ahead at Glasgow Warriors, we know what they are capable of despite a tough outing against the Sharks last week. We' ve prepared well this week and look forward to Saturday,” he coach concluded.

Saturday's clash at Ellis Park kicks off at 16:05.
