Helen Flanagan's secret relationship addressed by co-star as she eyes up being bridesmaid

Ex-Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan found herself in hot water during the latest Celebs Go Dating series, by lying about her single status.

Halfway through filming, the actress came clean about not fully being single, despite contractually claiming she was, and almost found herself getting booted off the show.

In awkward scenes set to air, the 34-year-old confesses that she is dating and according to sources, the man she's been seeing becomes a part of the show at a later date.

Addressing Helen's "whopper" rule break, the show's dating expert Anna Williamson said: "We are reactive to the genuine reality as it happens. Nothing is scripted, nothing was constructed, nothing was held back.

"As it all unfolds, we made a decision to react and deal with it accordingly to the moment and you will see how that starts to happen."

Instead of kicking her off of the show, the dating experts instead decided to listen to her reasoning on why she didn't let them know sooner.

Anna added: "I adore that woman, she's a terrific young lady and she deserves only good, she's very true and she's very pure, which is why her revelation was a big shock, but because we know Helen for being the genuine person she is, we wanted to hear her out first as to what her reasons were around that."

So far this series, Helen has shared a few kisses on her dates but is yet to find somebody who she sees a future with.

Having gone into the show following her split from footballer Scott Sinclair after 13 years, the actress admitted finding it hard to date but has since improved on her approach, with the help of Anna, Paul C Brunson and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaipor.
