Heavy traffic and long queues on M60 and M61 after crash

Heavy traffic is building on both the M61 and M60 this morning after a crash.

One lane has been shut off on the M61 northbound at the entry slip from the M60 anticlockwise, according to traffic alert service Inrix. The accident happened at junction 1 for the Swinton Interchange.

Motorway cameras show long queues building on the M60 up to the closure. There is also heavy traffic on the M61 near the closure.

One lane has also been shut off on the M62 eastbound between Birchwood and the Eccles Interchange.

According to traffic alert service Inrix, two lanes have been shut off on the M61 northbound carriageway at junction two.

Two lanes are also closed on the M60 anticlockwise from junction 17 to junction 16 due to a broken down vehicle.

A lane remains shut on the slip road onto the M61 from the M60.

Traffic remains slow in the area.
