'He's dangerous' - Kevin De Bruyne defends Man City ace Erling Haaland's form since injury return

Kevin De Bruyne believes it is only a matter of time before Erling Haaland starts scoring regularly again, backing the striker to rediscover his form before long.

Haaland spent two months out with a foot injury, scoring his first goals since returning against Everton at the weekend. He had a quiet game in the Champions League at Copenhagen, even if he was unlucky not to score one or two of his chances, as City took control of the tie.

In the build-up to that game, Pep Guardiola had told Haaland to focus on being a team player and encouraging his teammates, with the goals following if he follows the advice. Reflecting on Haaland's form, De Bruyne insisted that he is doing everything needed to get back to his own high standards.

“He’s been doing really well. Today he didn’t score but he was dangerous and he created chances," said De Bruyne after the win over Copenhagen.

"He had the opportunities and that’s the thing he needs to do. He will score goals anyway. When you play with someone like him it’s easy to create chances - one of if not the best striker in the world. I know he’s going to be there, and the connection is made by itself - understanding what he wants and knowing each other.”

Copenhagen's low block made it difficult for Haaland to find space, with De Bruyne and Phil Foden taking the attacking responsibilities in Denmark.
