He checked to make sure no-one was watching, then struck

After a quick look to check no one was watching, a man in sunglasses brazenly steals a Manchester couple's parcels. The moment was captured by a camera at the front of their home on Brunswick Street, which has been repeatedly targeted this year.

The victim told the Manchester Evening News the problem has been going on for him and his neighbours over the last six months - with items worth thousands of pounds combined being swiped. The video shows a man - wearing a t-shirt and shorts, sunglasses and a black cap worn back-to-front - walking along Brunswick Street with a bag.

He steps through a front gate and looks over his shoulder, before picking up at least two parcels from the ground. The man then hurries back out, leaving the gate open, and walks back down Brunswick Street clutching the items.

The footage was captured shortly before 1pm on Sunday, June 2. It was one of the more recent incidents to have struck residents on Brunswick Street, in the Brunswick estate near Ardwick and the city centre, which had prompted the victim of this particular theft to install the CCTV camera in the first place.

The resident, who asked to remain anonymous, said: "It's getting worse. They keep stealing them from the neighbours on the street. That's why we installed the CCTV camera, we got the footage of a guy stealing the parcels. We're all angry."

The resident says that items stolen outside his home, where he lives with his wife, include a number of Amazon deliveries, while one parcel contained luxury items worth £2,500. He said: "It's a lot of money.
