‘Have to be looked at’ - Cross urges LUFC to address two key areas this summer
Journalist Beren Cross recently took to Twitter to express his opinion on positions Leeds United to address after successfully bringing in their third signing of the window, Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca.
The Whites have stormed into the summer transfer window, picking up Red Bull Salzburg duo Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen as well as 25-year-old Spanish midfielder Roca in the past few days.
However, it would be surprising if their work is finished amidst rumours suggesting duo Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha could be set for the exit door which would give their transfer budget a significant boost.
Journalist Cross has claimed that the club still need to solve problems around two key areas in the first team, stating manager Jesse Marsch still needs to look at the striker and left-back positions this summer, in his opinion.
He wrote on Twitter, “Roca done. Three in by mid-June. Still business Leeds United want to do in this window. Striker and left-back have to be looked at, for me.”
TIF Thoughts on Cross’ comments…
Leeds desperately need to add depth to their squad after they suffered a number of injuries to key men last season, including Phillips, Patrick Bamford, Luke Ayling, and Stuart Dallas.
After Bamford missed most of the season through injuries, only playing nine Premier League games, they were left with only Rodrigo and Dan James to fill the void. Neither impressed with Rodrigo bagging just six goals and James with four.
Cross’ concerns could be fixed by the end of the window however as the club have been linked with a move for 20-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, with an offer of £17 million sent by the Yorkshire club.
The club has also been linked with a move for Philadelphia
