"Have a chance" – Journalist now says Leeds could sign 24 G/A "phenomenon" if they stay up

Leeds “have a chance” of signing Noa Lang this summer if they avoid relegation, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The 22-year-old has been on their radar since last year when Marcelo Bielsa was the manager, although O’Rourke reckons that Leeds must remain a Premier League club to have any chance of winning the race for his signature.

Following an outstanding 2020-2021 campaign in Belgium with Club Brugge, in which he scored 17 goals and laid on 11 assists, Lang emerged as a target for Leeds.

At the time, Fabrizio Romano said: “He’s a target, they are talking with his agents but there is no deal agreed or any official bids yet with Club Brugge.”

But Bielsa’s side ended up signing Dan James from Manchester United, which saw them miss out on Lang.

However, the Elland Road outfit are set to revisit their interest for the Netherlands international, who has continued his outstanding form to help his side qualify for the Champions League once again.

Furthermore, Football Insider believe that Leeds are already working on a deal to bring Lang to Yorkshire this summer, with the attacker telling Brugge that he wants to leave at the end of the season.

But O’Rourke thinks that Leeds simply must be playing in the top-flight, or their chances are virtually zero.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “A lot depends on where Leeds are next season. If they’re in the Premier League they might have a chance of signing Noa Lang, but if they get relegated to the Championship, it’s not going to happen because he will be looking to play at the highest level as possible.”
