Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions multiplayer game announced by Warner Bros

Warner Bros. has announced a new video game titled Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is coming to PC and consoles.

According to the game’s FAQ page, Quidditch Champions is “a complete, standalone experience” that “engages players in the sport of Quidditch and other broomstick adventures alongside friends in a competitive, multiplayer setting.”

It has been in development for several years by Los Angeles-based Unbroken Studios – a different developer to the hugely successful Hogwarts Legacy who is also working on DC’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

In the “fast-paced, competitive multiplayer game,” players will be able to customise their own Quidditch players and play online either solo or as a team.

As with Hogwarts Legacy, Warner Bros. is publishing the game under its Portkey Games label. It will be available for PC and consoles which are yet to be confirmed.

A release date for Quidditch Champions is yet to be confirmed, but gamers can take part in limited playtests to try out the game before it is released. The tests will be held from April 21-22 and players can register for a chance to take part here.

A dedicated Discord server has also been launched where players can learn more as the game is in development. The announcement comes just two months since the release of Hogwarts Legacy and explains why the broomstick sport was absent from the game.

Despite controversy surrounding Potter author JK Rowling, Hogwarts Legascy sold more than 12m copies two weeks after its February launch and became the fastest selling game of the year.
