Harry Maguire issues apology after costly ‘mistake’ in England’s draw against Germany
Manchester United captain Harry Maguire issued an apology for the ‘mistake’ he made during England’s Nations League draw against Germany on Monday night.

The under-fire defender brought down Jamal Musiala in the box, which resulted in a penalty to the Germans after a VAR review.
The centre-back has retained Gareth Southgate’s faith, despite losing his place at Old Trafford after a dramatic drop in form over the last 12 months.
England’s Nations League campaign was already over before last night but the fixture was their last before the World Cup and with so many out-of-form players, it was Southgate’s final opportunity to cast an eye over his squad.
But Maguire did himself no favours by giving the ball away and then bringing down Musiala in the box, which gave Ilkay Gundogan the chance to make it 1-0.
But the defender was quick to apologise after the draw and says the ‘tough times’ will make him stronger.
