Harry Kane reacts to overtaking Thierry Henry in Premier League all-time list after Tottenham brace

Harry Kane has reacted to overtaking Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in the list of all-time Premier League goal-scorers.

The Tottenham striker first equaled then beat Henry’s record of 175 goals during Spurs’ dominant 5-0 win over sorry Everton and moved just one behind Toffees boss Frank Lampard.

Sergio Aguero’s haul of 184 is in sight before the end of the season and Kane could feasibly become only the third player after Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney to score over 200 goals in England’s elite division in the near future.

Shearer’s long-standing record of 260 remains the target.

The 28-year-old’s first goal on Monday night saw him break behind the defence in a strike that rolled back the years before his second spoke to a player with supreme confidence in his ability by hitting a sublime volley after an excellent pass from Matt Doherty.

After a difficult start to the season, the England captain is back to his best.

“Thierry was one of the greatest Premier League strikers we’ve seen, so to go above him now is a nice little milestone,” he told Sky Sports after the game.
