Harry Kane had a moment to forget with free-kick vs Middlesbrough

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane fancied his chances when he lined up for a free-kick 25 yards out against Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening.

But what happened next was a bit of a mess.

The Spurs’ striker slipped as he struck the ball, sending the ball bobbling into Middlesbrough’s wall.

The crowd at the Riverside Stadium saw the funny side, bursting into laughter.

And it proved to be a pretty funny moment for those watching on BBC too, thanks to the commentary provided by Guy Mowbray.

Mowbray didn’t really fancy Kane’s chances as he prepared to take the penalty, saying: “Harry Kane and free-kicks is not a recipe that goes together massively successfully…”

And so it proved.
