Harry Kane breaks silence on Erling Haaland's start at Man City

Tottenham Hotspur and England captain Harry Kane has broken his silence on Erling Haaland's start to the season with Manchester City.

Haaland has started the campaign in scintillating form for the Blues. So far he has scored 14 goals in just 10 competitive appearances.

Before the ex-Borussia Dortmund man moved to the Etihad Stadium, City were interested in bringing Kane to the club as their new centre forward. A deal for Kane seemed to be close in the summer of 2021, however it would eventually fall through.

Currently on international duty with England, the 29-year-old discussed the talents of the young Norwegian and how well he has been playing so far. "Especially in the Premier League when you’re coming up against the best strikers, it pushes every player around you to be better," Kane explained.

"Everyone’s talking about Haaland because he’s had an incredible start to the season, so rightly so. As you know me, I don’t focus on too many other people, I focus on myself and what I can do.

"We’ve had a good start to the season with Spurs, we probably haven’t played our best football but that’s a good sign to be where we are knowing we can improve. And it’s probably one of the best starts I’ve had in the Premier League."

Kane has certainly started this season brighter than last having notched six goals in just seven Premier League matches. Spurs were scheduled to face City on Saturday, September 10 however the game was postponed following the death of the Queen.
