Hamstreet Football Club announce ‘hugely exciting step’ with launch of women’s team
Hamstreet Football Club have launched their first-ever women’s team.
The side will compete in the South East Counties Women’s Football League under the management of former Ashford United Ladies boss Steve Howard.
Trials take place at Pound Lee Sports Ground in Hamstreet every Thursday (7-9pm) with players of all abilities welcome.
“Everyone at Hamstreet Football Club is delighted to welcome our new Hamstreet women’s side for the upcoming season,” said club chairman Duncan Horlock.
“This is a hugely exciting step for the club and another important milestone in supporting and developing female football within our community.
“Over the last few years, we have seen tremendous growth in the girls’ section, with more than 40 girls now training regularly across our younger age groups.
“The addition of a ladies’ team provides a pathway for players to continue their football journey and demonstrates our commitment to growing the women’s game.
“We are incredibly proud of the progress being made and are always looking to build on this success.
“We would warmly welcome any local businesses or individuals interested in sponsoring and supporting the girls’ and ladies’ sections as they continue their exciting journey in football.
“Thank you to everyone involved for helping make Hamstreet FC a club that offers opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.”
