Granerud breezed through to the second round with a 10-point lead over Austria's Stefan Kraft, but a poor second jump saw his lead cut as he clung on for the win.
Ad The 26-year-old's first-round jump of 235.5m was four metres shorter than Kraft's, but the Austrian lost on out on points from the judges.
