Half a million burritos are being handed out for free TODAY - here’s how to grab your free food

Popular Mexican eatery Tortilla will be giving away half a million free burritos today - and it’s expected to draw in big queues.

To coincide with everyone’s favourite celebration, World Burrito Day, Tortilla will be celebrating in style once again by handing out free medium burritos and naked burritos this afternoon. Replicating the success of last year’s event, where thousands were handed out across the country, the restaurant has upped the ante this year with its biggest ever giveaway.

Being held at Tortilla restaurants nationwide, the giveaway will take place at two branches within Manchester city centre. You will be able to bag yourself a freebie at the Tortilla venues on Oxford Road or at Manchester Arndale from 2pm today.

But in order to get your free food, there is a slight caveat - the offer is exclusive to Club Tortilla members only. Thankfully, joining is free and can be done via the Tortilla website. Once you’re all verified, you can download your loyalty card to any Apple or Android phone wallet.

Speaking of the free offer, Megan Burton-Brown, Tortilla Marketing Director, said: “Tortilla exists to make life better with burritos – and what better way to celebrate than with burritos for all on World Burrito Day! This year we’ve made our giveaway bigger and better with half a million reasons for life to be better!”

Tortilla says that all of its fresh toppings and fillings are made from scratch, with 70% of their menu now being plant-based and accredited by Vegan Friendly. The chain also claims that there are also more than four million burrito filling combinations to try - which sounds like a challenge worth accepting.
