GVB must now ruthlessly axe £13k-p/w Rangers liability who makes "too many mistakes" - opinion

Rangers failed to make the most of their rivals slipping up on Sunday as Gio van Bronckhorst’s Gers side were held to a 2-2 draw by Motherwell in the Premiership.

Celtic failed to win earlier in the day and that gave Gio van Bronckhorst’s side a chance to close the gap to one point with a win at Ibrox.

Instead, they let a two-goal lead slip and came away with a draw. An own goal from Bevis Mugabi and a fine strike from Fashion Sakala put Rangers in what appeared to be a comfortable position, but the away side fought back to claim a point in Glasgow.

One player who cost the Gers on the day was Allan McGregor as he conceded two goals from three shots, with the second strike somehow squeezing past him at the near post.

This is not the first time the £13k-per-week liability has cost Rangers points this season, with SofaScore judging him to have made one error leading to a shot and three errors directly leading to goals – a statistic that comes from weak parries or passes resulting in goals.
