GTA 6: Latest leak suggest timeline set over multiple time periods

The Grand Theft Auto franchise is one of the gaming giants of the world with GTA V the most popular instalment.

GTA V is still one of the most popular games today with constant updates to online content even nine years after its initial release.

With the announcement that the highly-anticipated GTA VI is in development, fans have been wondering where it will be set?

The most popular recurring theory is that it will be set in Vice City, with multiple insiders hinting at a consistently evolving open-world map.

A new insider has come forward with fresh claims about GTA VI’s location, time period and protagonists.

The leaker goes by the name of Onion00048 and has suggested it takes place in Vice City, but also features Liberty City and parts of South America.

What is different about this suggestion, however, is that the leaker claims the game will take place across two time periods.

The first half of the story is rumoured to take place in 1985, with the final part of the game taking place in the modern-day.

The leaker assumes that players will be able to cross between the two time periods freely for open-world adventures.

The upcoming GTA 6 will tell a story set across multiple cities and decades, according to a new report
