Greggs LIVE: Stores closes across UK after being hit by 'payment issues'

Greggs bakeries up and down the UK are being closed today (March 20) after an IT glitch has left many stores unable to process payments.

The UK's largest bakery chain, known for its cheap and cheerful bakes, sausage rolls, and pizza slices, could not take payments in any of their stores this morning after the glitch.

A statement from Greggs said: "We are currently experiencing issues accepting payments in our shops." It added: "We are working to resolve this as soon as possible."

"I was looking forward to claiming my free breakfast through the app but when it came to paying, I was told that the scanners 'aren't playing today'. It's not the end of the world as their breakfast rolls
