Graham Smyth teases huge Leeds injury boost before Man Utd with 9-word claim on 'amazing' player

Leeds United correspondent Graham Smyth has teased a quick return to action for Stuart Dallas.

The Northern Irishman, who Alex McLeish called ‘amazing’ last year, once again started at left-back last weekend with Junior Firpo still unavailable.

However, the 30-year-old had to make way just nine minutes in against Everton in what was the beginning of an afternoon to forget against Frank Lampard’s side.

Dallas’ replacement, Leo Hjelde, also hobbled off in the closing stages, but it seems as if the versatile Leeds star has a chance of featuring at Elland Road on Sunday.

Smyth shared a story on The Yorkshire Evening Post on Thursday morning, looking ahead to the clash with the Red Devils.

When it came to Dallas, he said ‘don’t bet on the Ulsterman sitting this one out’ – a teasing nine-word claim over a possible quick return.

Dallas has started 106 of Leeds’ last 107 games and has played through plenty of pain for the Whites, so it would be a surprise if he is unavailable to feature this weekend.

He knew straight away that something wasn’t right on Merseyside, and things went from bad to worse with Hjelde also suffering a knock, but if there’s even the remotest chance Dallas can be fit, he will try to take it.

We will know more on the injury front in Marcelo Bielsa’s press conference on Friday morning, but it seems as if Smyth is hopeful Dallas could continue his outstanding starting record for Leeds.

In other news: Huge behind-the-scenes claim now emerges regarding key Leeds man before Man Utd.
