Graham Potter comments on Marc Cucurella shows he has perfect Man City mindset
Just yesterday. Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter provided an update on Marc Cucurella's position at the club, amid strong interest from Manchester City.
Speaking to the press on Cucurella, Potter said: "He is happy. It's not easy because there's speculation, he's human and that's the challenge with footballers when the window is open, you get linked with this and that. It is what it is. But he's a well liked member of the group, so he is just training and playing as normal."
The left-back has been on Pep Guardiola's radar all summer, but the club prioritised the signings of Erling Haaland and Kalvin Phillips before making their move. Now, following Oleksandr Zinchenko's recent departure to Arsenal, City are now in desperate need of a full-back.

On a pre-season tour of the United States, youngster Josh Wilson-Esbrand was incredibly impressive across the two friendlies and even earned specific praise from the manager after the Bayern Munich clash. Guardiola admitted that the full-back can recover from a consistent run of injuries, he has a bright future at the club.
However, he is still a very raw talent and will need to be nurtured into senior football at a gradual rate — a path similar to Phil Foden's a few years ago. That means reinforcements must be acquired in the meantime if City are to remain competitive on multiple fronts this season.
Cucurella is seen as the prime target, with his attacking exploits at the Amex Stadium drawing a lot of attention from some top clubs over the past 12 months. It's clear he has talent with the ball at his feet, but Potter's comments also shows he has the elite mentality to fit
