Graeme Souness heaps praise on 'world class' Harry Kane

Graeme Souness has praised Tottenham striker Harry Kane after another virtuoso performance, saying that this is the 'best' version he has seen of the player. 

Speaking after Spurs beat Aston Villa 4-0 at Villa Park to move firmly into the box seat for the top four, Souness said that Kane was becoming a player people pay just to watch. 

Despite not scoring, Kane once again turned provider for Spurs laying on two of the four goals they scored. 

Speaking on Sky Sports after the win, Souness said: 'I think Harry Kane since he's come back, he had a disastrous start by his standards, is quickly becoming a player who you'd pay to watch just him play.'

The former Liverpool captain added: 'I think his football at the moment is the best I've seen from him. Okay, he won't be entirely happy because he's not getting the goals.  But his game is just superb. 

'He's just an all-round super footballer at this time. He won't be happy as I said, because he's a striker and strikers are a strange animal.'

Darren Bent, on punditry duty with Souness, echoed his sentiments suggesting that Kane might not have had a 'clear mind' during the first part of the season when his performance levels were not as high. 

'It's almost like he's [Kane] playing with a clear mind now. We know at the start of the season what had gone on,' he said. 

'Since Antonio Conte came in, it looks like he's better than he was last season,' he added.

'His numbers maybe suggest not, but his all round game at the minute. His link-up play, he's a goal threat, his relationship with Son is just incredible. But it looks like, when Harry Kane gets an opportunity now, he doesn't miss.'
