Gorka Marquez has shared an honest update with fans after he was seen in tears. The dancer admitted feelings of 'sadness and guilt' around his return to Strictly Come Dancing.

Despite being delighted to be pack in the professional dancer line-up for another year and being given a celebrity partner for the 2024 series is the shape of practicing GP and Morning Live's resident doctor Dr Punam Krishan, Gorka candidly shared that it's not always easy.

The 20th anniversary years of Strictly will take him away from the Greater Manchester home he shares with his fiancée Gemma Atkinson and their two children, five-year-old Mia and one-year-old Thiago, as he trains in Glasgow before moving onto London each weekend for the live shows.

On Sunday (September 15), following the airing of the pre-recorded launch show on Saturday night (September 14), the 34-year-old shared the reality behind being away from his family for his dream career. Taking to Instagram, he shared a selfie in which tears could be seen filling his eyes and falling down his cheeks.

He also posted a lengthy typed-out message, which read: "Sometimes I feel like on here all we share are happy things, or things that can make others go, 'wow, look at him/her... How amazing'. Maybe scared to show other side of us, more vulnerable, but that is part of us. So... here is me, having a moment of those that sometimes we hide or keep for ourselves, especially being a man.
