Gogglebox star Ellie Warner hailed an inspiration as she details her breastfeeding journey

Gogglebox star Ellie Warner has been hailed as an inspiration by fans on social media after detailing her breastfeeding journey. Ellie - who appears on the Channel 4 show reviewing TV programmes with her sister Izzi - posted a lengthy update on social media explaining how she started planning to breastfeed as soon as she knew she was pregnant, describing the challenges she has overcome along the way.

Writing on Instagram, Ellie said "wasn't sure" if she would be able to breastfeed based on stories she had heard about other mums, and that she was "scared to be overconfident". After giving birth to her baby son Ezra, she said breastfeeding "came naturally" and that she had "uninterrupted golden hour" to bond.

However, she said she later developed mastitis which turned into a painful abscess. This subsequently burst, leaving her in agony and needing to go to A&E.

Following treatment her condition is "much better", Ellie said, and she is still "exclusively" breastfeeding Ezra. "I plan to continue breastfeeding Ezra until we come to a natural end," she said.

Fans applauded Ellie in the comments. @freetobirth said: "Wow SUCH an inspiring story because it really shows what dedication and support can achieve."
