Goalkeeper Chris Haigh leaves Ebbsfleet United after three years at the National League club

Goalkeeper Chris Haigh’s eventful three-year spell with Ebbsfleet has come to an end.

Haigh was one of 12 players that were in discussions with the Fleet after his contract expired at the end of this season.

But the popular 27-year-old will be plying his trade elsewhere next season after leaving the National League club.

Haigh joined the Fleet from Concord in 2021 and featured 20 times before losing his place in the second half of the season to on-loan keeper Louie Moulden.

He then made his first appearance of the 2022/23 campaign at Eastbourne in August but suffered a double leg-break during that match.

On his return to full fitness, Haigh joined Oxford City on an emergency loan deal and ended the season as a double-promotion winner! He earned a National League South winners’ medal with the Fleet and then helped Oxford win the play-off final.

Haigh extended his Ebbsfleet deal last summer but spent the season on loan at Oxford City, albeit losing his place with the National League strugglers in the second half of the campaign.
