A 13-year-old girl is fighting for her life after being stabbed by a major road. Officers have arrested six youths, aged between 14 and 17, on suspicion of attempted murder after the girl was found with 'life-threatening' injuries.

Humberside Police says the victim suffered 'lacerations to her neck, abdomen, chest and back'. She was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

Police were called out to the scene, by the side of the A63 in Hessle, East Yorkshire, at 6.50am today (November 1). Officers closed the road for a time, Hull Live reports.
