Gillingham’s Armani Little has scored against Tranmere Rovers in his previous two matches against them

Gillingham midfielder Armani Little has a decent track record against their weekend opponents Tranmere Rovers.

Little and the Gills could do with a lift. It was a mistake from the midfielder which led to Doncaster Rovers’ goal last Saturday, the only one they needed to take all three points home with them from Priestfield.

Coleman: Forward focus for the Gills

The players have tried to put that behind them ahead of another opportunity for points this weekend, away to lowly Tranmere Rovers.

Little scored the opener against Tranmere in a 3-0 home win back in mid-September - a win that left the Gills second in the table.

In his only other game against the team from Birkenhead, he scored in a 4-1 win for former side AFC Wimbledon.

“I don't want to jinx it now but I don't mind playing Tranmere,” said the former Southampton scholar.

“It seems to be the one I've been scoring against recently so hopefully I can play Saturday and bring that to the game.”

Little’s header back to goal last weekend was picked up by Doncaster’s Luke Molyneux before scoring past Glenn Morris.

The midfielder described how he felt.

“It was crap, when you make that mistake” he said. “Especially when they've gone and scored but you just have to get on with it, that's part of the game. I’m looking to put that right on Saturday now.”

“He's a strong character and hopefully he'll get over the injury and come back and perform the way I know he can.” #Gills boss John Coleman has provided an update on Josh Andrews’ injury
