Ghana ease Arsenal concern over Thomas Partey injury

Ghana have played down the severity of Thomas Partey’s injury after the Arsenal midfielder missed his nation’s friendly against Brazil on Friday evening.

Arsenal news, exclusives and analysis

The 29-year-old played 78 minutes in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Brentford last Sunday and was expected to feature for Ghana during the international break.

However, a knee issue forced him to watch the game from the sidelines as Marquinhos and a double from Richarlison sealed a 3-0 victory for Brazil in Le Havre.

Ghana are due to play Nicaragua in a friendly in Spain on Tuesday and Ghanaian radio station Joy report that Partey is in contention to feature as he only missed the Brazil game due to a precaution.

Arsenal will face Tottenham in their first Premier League game back after the international break on October 1.

Elsewhere, Martin Odegaard has trained with Norway this week and is expected to play in their Nations League match against Slovenia on Saturday afternoon. Norway are then due to play Serbia on Tuesday night.
