Georges St-Pierre won't rule out grappling match against Khabib Nurmagomedov

UFC legend Georges St-Pierre has refused to rule out a possible grappling match against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

For the longest time now fans have wondered what would happen if Georges St-Pierre and Khabib Nurmagomedov squared off against one another. Both individuals have retired from mixed martial arts but as two of the main contenders in the ‘greatest of all time’ conversation, it’s understandable that the masses would want to know how a superfight between them would go.

They’ve been asked about the idea countless times with both admitting how much they’d love for it to happen. Alas, at this stage in their lives, it feels like the opportunity to get it booked has passed them by.

Still, with a sport as versatile as MMA, there are always going to be different practices and routes they could go down to make it more plausible.

Case in point – when St-Pierre was asked about a grappling match with ‘The Eagle’ during an interview with James Lynch, he had the following response.

“If it’s well-organized… if there’s some event that is well-organized, that is a novelty fight, something good, maybe, why not? I’m still in the entertainment world, I’m in great shape. I still train like a professional athlete. I still get it,” St-Pierre said.

“Even some of the guys sometimes, they tell me, ‘Hey, are you preparing a comeback?’ I’m like, ‘No, I’m 40 years old. I’m done.’ I like to stay in there and keep my head in the game.”

Georges St-Pierre always seems to be flying to a different corner of the world in the name of training and taking part in seminars. He’s also just become a part of the Karate Combat family, taking up the role of Sensei for the upcoming fourth season.
