Gary Rogers: JJ Lunney a great platform for Shelbourne's dynamic duo

Before May dawned, Shelbourne had yet to pick up a home win in the SSE Airtricity League this season.

But the week that Tolka Park's future became clearer coincided with a turnaround for a club just promoted back from the second tier.

This month has been stellar for Damien Duff's side who have won four games on the trot, including three from three on home turf.

On Monday, attacking midfielder Jack Moylan and forward Sean Boyd scored the goals in a 2-0 win over bottom side UCD, continuing a run of form for the duo who have netted all but one of the goals in the four-game winning run.

They have combined for nine of the 17 goals Shels have fashioned and while former Dundalk goalkeeper Gary Rogers is impressed by both players, he also feels one of their team-mates is flying under the radar.

"JJ Lunney has come in as well and played as that six and his performances in there probably go unnoticed, a bit like Chris Shields at Dundalk who went unnoticed for about four years and then everyone was raving about him for his last two or three," he said on this week's RTÉ Soccer Podcast.
