Gary Neville sends scathing Manchester United message to the Glazer family

Gary Neville has demanded Joel Glazer to keep his promise and speak to Manchester United fans directly about the club.

The club’s owners have been conspicuous by their absence this season during what has been a dismal campaign for United. Avram Glazer was seen at Old Trafford back in September in what has been the only appearance by one of the family since fans have returned to the ground following the pandemic.

United supporters have regularly shown their displeasure at the ownership of the club, with protests having occurred regularly during their tenure. The relationship hit a nadir when United’s involvement in the failed European Super League was confirmed last year, sparking outrage among fans.

Apologising to fans following the collapse of the competition, Joel Glazer committed to “better communicate” with supporters.

"Although the wounds are raw and I understand that it will take time for the scars to heal, I am personally committed to rebuilding trust with our fans and learning from the message you delivered with such conviction,” Glazer said. "We also realise that we need to better communicate with you, our fans, because you will always be at the heart of the club.”

But Neville has not been impressed by their efforts so far this season. The former United captain urged Glazer to live up to his promises by making a rare appearance at Old Trafford.
