Gary Neville’s comments reveal what his relationship with Jamie Carragher is really like

Gary Neville has revealed how similar he and Jamie Carragher both are in their respective approaches to working.

During his notable career at Manchester United, Neville made 598 appearances over a span of 19 years, celebrating eight Premier League triumphs, three FA Cups, and two Champions League victories among other honours. Meanwhile, Carragher dedicated his professional life to Liverpool, amassing 737 appearances for the Merseyside outfit.

However, his trophy cabinet is less crowded than Neville's, a consequence of United's ascendancy in English football under Sir Alex Ferguson. Although it would appear their club rivalry might make things awkward, its their distinct personalities that sometimes lead to disagreement in their punditry roles.

On a recent episode of The Overlap on Sky Sports, Neville mused about who'd be his least preferred roommate amongst his co-hosts. The 49-year-old shared: "I think I would be stitched up because you can't separate Roy [Keane] and Ian [Wright] - so they would definitely room together.

"Which would mean I'd be put with Jamie Carragher who is definitely the last person I'd want. What is it about Carra that means I wouldn't want to room with him? I just don't want to listen to a minute more of him than I need to," reports the Mirror.

"He is constantly 'on' and I'm sure he'd say the same about me, but I think sometimes intensity meeting intensity doesn't work. Basically, I need a little bit more Yin and Yang, rather than what we are which is more Yin and Yin."
