Gary Neville has picked out a moment conjured up by England forward Phil Foden as an indicator at how superior Manchester City and Liverpool are to their Premier League rivals. A gripping title race between those two teams is set to go down to the wire.
City are in pole position to pick up their fourth league title in five seasons. After watching Liverpool drop points against Tottenham on Saturday afternoon, they took full advantage of the opportunity to go three points clear — with three games to play — by sweeping aside Newcastle at the Etihad Stadium.
Foden had to settle for a place on the subs' bench in that game as Pep Guardiola freshened up his attack. However, the 21-year-old was summoned upon the restart and made his mark to rubber-stamp that 5-0 win, also showcasing why City and Liverpool continue to set the standard.

Neville said: "I pointed towards [Phil] Foden when he came on at 3-0 up. He chased down the goalkeeper. They do the right things all the time, even though sometimes those runs are fruitless. Many times they are fruitless, but that one time is the difference.
"They do it all the time, being professional and preparing well is a permanent thing and these two teams do it. You can tell they care about their work, their attitude, their ability to play with courage on the ball and always do those right things. It's constant, absolutely constant."
