Gary Neville And Micah Richards Agree That England WON'T Win The World Cup In Qatar… But Name The 'Underrated' Player Who Must Be In The Squad

Gary Neville and Micah Richards have played down England's chances of winning the World Cup in Qatar.

Neville and Richards have gone head-to-head in a hilarious new episode of Agree To Disagree, in partnership with Sky Bet.

The pair clashed on a number of topics but were in full agreement when asked if England will win the tournament in Qatar, which gets underway in November.

Neville: "I'd have to disagree. I don't think they will. I think they're as close as they’ll ever get, I think they're a brilliant bunch and they've done brilliant at the last two tournaments.

"But I just think, when we cut to the chase… look I hope so, because they deserve to and Gareth [Southgate] deserves to."

Richards: "They got the semi-final of the World Cup, they got to the final of the Euros. Is this the time?"

Neville: "I just think France, Germany, Spain. You've got Brazil, Argentina coming into it… Senegal, all these countries that are fantastic."

Richards: "I still think that they're a couple of years away. [But] when the likes of [Jude] Bellingham get in the team…"

Both Neville and Richards agreed that Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse deserves to be in England's squad for the tournament after another impressive campaign for the Saints.

Ward-Prowse, 27, has made just nine appearances for the Three Lions since his international debut in 2017 but Neville and Richards are keen to see the midfielder in Qatar.

Richards said: "He’s been the most underrated player in the Premier League for years.

"People say he might not have the mobility but he works hard, he's always [at least] seven out of 10, with that great right foot.

"You know what lets him down? Because he's so good at free-kicks, like your mate David Beckham,
