Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher agree on four Man City players in their Team of the Season

Manchester City duo Ruben Dias, Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland were all named in Monday Night Football's Premier League Team of the Season just days after being crowned Premier League champions.

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher both named lineups of their own, with the pair agreeing on the same City quartet as well as naming Haaland their Player of the Season.

The Blues picked up their third straight title on Sunday, following a comfortable 1-0 win over Chelsea at the Etihad. Their position in top-spot was confirmed the day beforehand, with Arsenal's defeat at Nottingham Forest leaving them unable to make up what was a four-point gap.

After a relatively slow start to the season - compounded by Arsenal's brilliant form - Pep Guardiola's side have gone on to win 12 league games in a row, including the 4-1 turnover of their title rivals at the Etihad. Haaland netted the fourth on that evening, one of 36 scored in the Premier League so far.

The Norwegian has enjoyed an outstanding debut season in England after joining from Borussia Dortmund for just £51million last summer, breaking multiple records including the most goals in a single season.

“It’s the first time that the Premier League have signed a player that we think’s going to go on to be the best player in the world, or is already at that level,” Neville said of Haaland.

Carragher added: “He’s an absolute freak, he’s a special player and these records are going to continue to be broken.”
