Gary Lineker has brilliant new job as Match of the Day host makes announcement

Former England and Barcelona striker Gary Lineker has proudly taken on the role of Patron for the charity Cure Leukaemia. Founded in 2003 by Professor Charlie Craddock CBE, alongside patients Graham Silk and Michael Woolley, Cure Leukaemia was initially set up to provide access to pioneering blood cancer treatments for patients in the West Midlands.

Since then, it has grown significantly, extending its reach across the nation, reports Football London. The charity not only offers potentially life-saving treatments to patients throughout the UK but also supports the national Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP).

This programme connects a network of 15 hospital centres across the country, covering a patient population of over 20 million, ensuring access to innovative treatments outside of standard care options. In a heartfelt video shared by Cure Leukaemia on social media, Lineker, who also turned out for Everton and Leicester city, expressed the personal significance of the cause, due to his own family's experience with the illness.
