Gary Barlow gets new tattoo dedicated to his kids ahead of UK tour

Take That star Gary Barlow has revealed a new tattoo dedicated to his children. Eagle-eyed fans spotted the inking on a pre-tour photo showing the star relaxing on a sofa, with the words "not long now". The tattoo has the four letters D, E, D and P on his inside right arm.

They are for his children Daniel, 23, Emily, 21, Daisy, 14 and Poppy, who was stillborn in 2012. It comes as Gary, 53, embarks on a 41-date tour with the band.

Take That’s This Life tour kicked off in Sheffield at the weekend. A fan page who re-posted the picture wrote: “Oohhh do we see a new tattoo also Gary?” Amanda Cox added: “Looks like his children’s initials.”

Gary has recently reflected on the loss of Poppy, telling The Imperfects podcast: ‘I’ve been angry for a long time about that, I haven’t really found peace with it yet.’ He added: "We had a worrying statistic when it happened to us, something like 95 percent of couples split up when something like that happens to them. Gary also shared how he copes with his daughter's loss through his music, saying: "For me, usually my way around most things in life is not talking about them, I write music. I’ve got lots of music that keeps her alive for me on a nightly basis. When I see audiences singing along, that’s the life for me, that’s what she brought and it’s here in front of me and it happens a few times a week on stage and that’s the way I keep her close
