Galway and Armagh set for opening battle as league fixtures revealed
Galway's Division 1 clash with Armagh at Pearse Stadium is one of the standout fixtures on day one of the 2025 Allianz Football League which begins on Saturday 25 January.
That All-Ireland final rematch - which will be screened live on RTÉ - will also be a high-profile competitive debut for the game's new rules which were resoundingly passed at Special Congress last weekend.
Two other Division 1 matches are slated for that Saturday: Tyrone v Derry (6pm at O'Neills Healy Park) and Dublin v Mayo, a glamour game under the lights at Croke Park (7.30pm).
The pick of the opening Allianz Hurling League games is the Division 1A meeting of Wexford and Cork at Chadwicks Wexford Park (5pm).
In Division 1B, Offaly host Carlow in Tullamore (2pm), Westmeath face Laois at TEG Cusack Park, and Dublin collide with Antrim (5pm) at Croke Park in a double-header with their footballers.
