Gabriela Dabrowski claims 25th tour-level doubles title of her career at China Open
Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski captured the 25th tour-level doubles title of her career Sunday, teaming up with Brazil’s Luisa Stefani for a dominant victory at the WTA 1000 China Open in Beijing.
The second-seeded pair defeated top seeds Katerina Siniakova and Zhang Shuai 6-1, 6-2 in just 59 minutes to claim the championship.
“Obviously today's performance was a really great culmination of the entire week, which was awesome for us,”Dabrowski said in a post-match press conference, in a Tennis Canada media release. “We brought a really high level. Our opponents forced us to do that with their reputation, the number of times we've played them.”
The victory marks Dabrowski’s fifth tour-level title of the year, adding to her triumphs in Dubai, Strasbourg, Eastbourne and São Paulo.
