GAA and LGFA Leinster football finals set for historic Croke Park double-bill
The Leinster senior football finals in both codes will be held on the same day at Croke Park this year, for the first time in history.
This evening, both Leinster GAA and the Leinster Ladies Gaelic Football Association announced that the two deciders will take place on Saturday 28 May at HQ.
Leinster GAA chairperson Pat Teehan said his council was happy to facilitate a request from the province's LGFA to share the billing.
"We are only too delighted to co-host our Provincial Final with the Leinster LGFA," he said. "We look forward now, to what will be a great day of exposure for both codes"
Leinster LGFA chief Trina Murray said the co-hosting would be significantly and extensively appreciated by players and supporters alike.
"We have lived the past two years in uncertain and strange times. This news is positive and uplifting and we look forward to teaming up with Leinster GAA for what will be the highlight of our calendar year."
