Fury, Ali, Tyson, Lewis: Tyson Fury explains why he's the heavyweight GOAT
“I’m the best heavyweight there’s ever been.”
Tyson Fury delivered that line to Wembley Stadium’s press room after stopping Dillian Whyte in his final career fight on Saturday night.
It took a moment for those in attendance to register what had just been said before a ripple of applause broke out.
“I’m not just being confident,” Fury assured them. “Six foot nine frame, 270 pound weight, can move like a middleweight, can hit like a thunderstorm and can take a punch like anybody else.”
Fury is ultimately a walking contradiction and a freak of a boxer. Fighters who are that tall aren’t meant to command such guile and finesse.
Add to that an elite level boxing IQ and shear guts, you’re left with a remarkable cross between Mozart and a Marvel superhero.
“I’ve got balls like King Kong, a heart like a lion and the mindset of the Wizard Oz,” Fury continued.
