Furious dad confronts fly tippers as they chuck 6ft fridge next to his house

This is the moment a furious dad-of-two confronted fly-tippers dumping a 7 ft fridge next to his house in Salford. David Holmes, 47, from Weaste said he ordered the pair to take back the large and 'dangerous' fridge after catching them in the act.

The confrontation happened on Edward Avenue where David lives and he says the two men were from a local takeaway in the area.

The tree surgeon told the MEN how he had been on the phone with Salford Council while the two men were dumping the fridge. He says that the council worker told him they would come and pick up the junk later on in the day but he was unsatisfied with the answer and ‘lost control’ before heading out to speak to the fly-tippers himself.

In the video, a furious David can be heard asking the two men why they have decided to dump the fridge on the land next to his home and then questioning whether they would do the same near to where they live.

A fed up David told the MEN that the piece of land next door to his home has become a hot spot for fly-tippers. He told the MEN that he and members of the community often carry out litter picking days but says the issue has become worse and they can no longer ‘keep up’.

Speaking to the MEN he said: “We have had problems with fly-tippers on this location but we go out there and pick it up. But obviously when it’s a seven foot fridge you can’t pick that up and put it in a bin.

"I called the council and they said they were going to come and remove it but I said ‘no, they need charging and fining.”
